Client reaction after her liquid rhinoplasty treatment

Liquid rhinoplasty — also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or nose filler — uses carefully placed dermal filler to subtly alter the appearance of the nose without surgery.

For suitable patients, it can be used to soften the appearance of a dorsal hump, improve certain asymmetries, refine the profile or create the appearance of a straighter, more balanced contour.

But there is nothing inherently “wrong” with having a bump, asymmetry or a nose that doesn’t fit conventional beauty ideals.

Treatment should always be about personal choice.

Some people may simply prefer a slightly different profile and want to explore what can be achieved without undergoing surgery.

One of the attractions of liquid rhinoplasty is that the change can often be seen immediately after treatment, although swelling means the appearance will continue to settle afterwards.

It may also appeal to people who would prefer to avoid the recovery time, cost or permanence associated with surgical rhinoplasty.

However, non-surgical rhinoplasty is not a replacement for surgery in every case. Filler cannot make the nose physically smaller, and some concerns are better addressed surgically.

The nose is also considered a high-risk area for dermal filler because of its vascular anatomy, so careful assessment, informed consent and treatment by an appropriately trained medical practitioner are especially important.

For us, the aim is never to create the same nose on every face.

It is to understand your anatomy, your preferences and what you would like to change — if anything — while preserving the features that make you look like you.

Change something because you want to.Or change absolutely nothing. The choice should always be yours.
